<br />~ Ramsey Rotary <br />~ Ramsey Lions Club <br />o Miscellaneous <br />~ Provide input to Comprehensive Plan process regarding land south of <br />Highway 10 <br />Member Strommen suggested the EDA participate in a public visioning <br />session that will occur in the spring, which will be part of a grant process <br />and the Ramsey3 Project. <br />~ Statement to City Council regarding the quality of the housing stock <br />Member Strommen requested staff to determine whether there is research <br />available regarding the impact of housing and land use on economic <br />development. <br /> <br />Member Schindler suggested name tags be prepared to identify EDA members when attending <br />events. <br /> <br />Motion by Member LeTourneau, seconded by Member Strommen, to adopt the 2007 EDA Work <br />Plan as amended above. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Acting Chairperson Steffen, Members LeTourneau, Strommen, <br />Kiefer, and Schindel. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Riley and Member Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Winter Business Connection Meeting <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan reviewed that the EDA has hosted Business <br />Network Meetings for the past few years. Staff was directed to select a speaker and to schedule <br />a meeting for February or March of 2007. The past network meeting was held in the morning, <br />and included a catered breakfast. The last meeting held at Connexus was very successful and the <br />turn-out was excellent. Mr. Sullivan indicated staff has contacted Anoka County Partners to <br />assist in locating a speaker and to help market this meeting to the business community. <br />Anoka County Partners has verbally committed to participate financially in this meeting, which <br />should help to obtain a quality speaker. Mr. Sullivan suggested the meeting include a catered <br />breakfast. He explained the meeting date has been left flexible so the speaker can drive the date. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Board was to recommend that staff contact Anoka County Partners to proceed <br />with setting up the Winter Business Connection Meeting, that the EDAlAnoka County Partners <br />provide a catered breakfast for the Winter Business Network Meeting, that the meeting be held at <br />the new municipal center, and that EDA members identify possible speakers in addition to the <br />list of possible speakers being compiled by Anoka County Partners. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />The EDA reviewed the Staff Update. <br /> <br />Member Kiefer inquired about the status of the building next to Amoco that was up for auction. <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan replied the building did not go to auction and is in <br />limbo at this time. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority/November 30,2006 <br />Page 5 of7 <br />
