<br />1. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Dissemination of Public Data <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The topic of public data requests was discussed at the January 19th and 20th Strategic <br />Planning/Goal Setting session. Staff was asked to bring this topic forward for discussion <br />at a work session. Staff has provided Council with a copy of the city's Guidelines and <br />Procedures for the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (attached for <br />Councilmembers only-not included in the staff packet to conserve paper-staff <br />members wishing to review the policy should contact Administration.) The policy <br />addresses how data is classified and the procedure for requesting data. Staff is prepared <br />to discuss the procedure for responding to public data requests.
