CASE 4 3 <br />Adopt Ordinance to Rezone Certain City -Owned Properties to Public -Quasi Public: <br />Case of City of Ramsey <br />By: Breanne Dalnes, Associate Planner <br />Background: <br />The City of Ramsey has recently codified a public -quasi public zoning district. Within this <br />district, all government buildings are permitted. In an effort to include City -owned buildings <br />within this district, City Staff is presenting a case to rezone both the current fire station located at <br />15050 Armstrong Boulevard. and the public works facility at 14100 Jaspar Street to Public -Quasi <br />Public. <br />The following items are included in your packet: <br />1) Site location maps <br />2) Approved Findings of Fact <br />3) Proposed Ordinance <br />Notification: <br />• In accordance with City Code, property owners located within 350 feet were notified of the <br />proposed rezoning for the public hearing on January 4, 2007. <br />Observations: <br />The City Council introduced an ordinance to rezone both City -owned properties to public -quasi <br />public zoning district on January 23, 2007. <br />Funding Source: <br />This is a City - initiated zoning amendment request, and no funding is required. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends rezoning the properties whose addresses are 15050 Armstrong Boulevard and <br />14100 Jaspar Street. <br />The Planning Commission met on January 4, 2007, and unanimously recommended approval of <br />• the rezoning. <br />—125— <br />
