• Mayor, Gamec expressed concern about things done during the year such as bus service, and
there was a possibility Councilmembers could put together $25.00 each.
Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated she did present this idea to other Council
Members as a special appreciation for employee service.
Mayor Gamec asked Ms. Nelson if there was any idea about proposed cost.
Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that the budget for Mr. Norman's event was not to
exceed $500. She stated that in past years, there has just been food but it is always nice to have
some type of entertainment. She suggested a casino night or something similar not to exceed
$1,500 for the holiday event. She stated that both of these events would take place at Wells.
Councilmember Elvig stated that he felt this was very important. Mr. Elvig stated that City
Administrator Norman has done a good job for the City over the last nine years. Mr. Elvig stated
he would like to keep the tradition alive.
Councilmember Strommen concurred with Councilmember Elvig
Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize a budget of
$1,500 for the City of Ramsey employee holiday event.
• Further discussion: Councilmember Jeffrey asked for clarification whether the cash amount
would go above and beyond the $1,500 or whether it would go to defray a budget of $1,500.
Mayor Gamec stated that if the Councilmembers donated, it would go towards reducing the
$1,500 budget limit and to be paid by check.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Pearson, and
Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Cook and Olson
Assistant City Administrator Nelson asked about the next City Council Work Session - date
looking into the new year.
