Through Operation
Round Up, Connexus Energy
customers donated $44,910 for various
community projects. That's $20,000
more than was donated to the fund in
1998, when contributions totaled
$24,900.
The funds go toward
worthwhile activities and community
projects in areas such as youth and
education, community development,
environment and disaster relief. A total
of 79 grants were handed out in 1999.
Nineteen grants were awarded in the
fourth quarter of 1999, including funding
for ARC of Anoka/Ramsey, Children's
Home Society of Minnesota, Crisis
Connection, Junior Achievement,
Riverside Theatre and Sherburne
County Public Health.
Operation Round Up Director
Al Sannerud says the fund continues to
grow as more customers sign up for the
program. "It's a way for our customers
to give bacl( to the community a few
pennies at a time. Those pennies add
up and have a big impact," adds
Sannerud. Connexus Energy customers
who chose to sign up for Operation
Round Up have their electric bills
rounded up to the next highest dollar, or
they contribute a flat monthly donation.
If your community group is interested
in applying for a donation through
Operation Round Up call
763-323-2691.
Connexus Energy is the largest,
customer-owned utility in Minnesota,
providing electricity and related products
and services to over 92,000 homes and
businesses in portions of Anol(a,
Chisago, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey,
Sherburne, and Washington counties.
Additional information about Connexus
Energy is available on-line at
www.connexusenergy.com

If at first you do succeed - try to hide your astonishment. - Anonymous
