<br />The purpose of this statement is to provide summary 2000 budget
<br />information for the City of Ramsey to interested citizens. The budget is published
<br />in accordance with Minnesota State Statute Section 471.6965. This budget is
<br />not complete; the complete City budget may be examined at the office of the
<br />Finance Officer, Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW,
<br />Ramsey, MN 55303. The Ramsey City Council approved this budget on
<br />December 14, 1999.

<br />2000 GENERAL
<br />FUND BUDGET
<br />The City of Ramsey Truth and
<br />Taxation public hearing was held on
<br />Monday, December 6, 1999, at the
<br />Ramsey Municipal Center. As a result
<br />of this meeting, and numerous others held
<br />throughout the year, the Ramsey City
<br />Council adopted the 2000 Operating
<br />Budget for the General Fund on Tuesday,
<br />December 14, 1999.
<br />The City continues to be
<br />committed to providing citizens and
<br />property owners outstanding City
<br />services, while emphasizing cost
<br />efficiency and effectiveness. These
<br />services enhance the quality of our lives
<br />and also ensure that Ramsey home values
<br />continue to grow. A few of the services
<br />provided by the City include:
<br />Snow plowing, street cleaning
<br />and maintenance
<br />Police and fire protection
<br />Use of City parks and trails
<br />Compliance monitoring of City
<br />Codes
<br />Community planning and zoning
<br />Economic Development
<br />The General Fund
<br />The General Fund accounts for
<br />the main operating expenditures for the
<br />City of Ramsey. Total expenditures
<br />increased 17.82% from $4,397,903
