6 <br />Parking is not allowed on Ramsey streets between the hours of <br />2 a.m. and 6 a.m., according to City Ordinance #603.19, Subd.3. Police <br />officers issue citations to vehicles parked illegally. <br />The ordinance provides the Police Department patrol units with <br />a valuable tool to watch out for and investigate suspicious vehicles which <br />may be parked on the street while the occupants are committing illegal <br />acts during early <br />AVOID A TICKET! <br />DON'T PARK ON CITY STREETS <br />2 A.M. TO 6 A.M. <br />morning hours. <br />MINNESOTA'S PASSENGER <br />PROTECTION LAWS <br />The State of Minnesota provides minimum safety standards <br />for passenger protection. The safest way to travel is to ensure <br />everyone in the vehicle is correctly buckled up and that all children <br />under thirteen ride in the back seat. Children should be in safety seats <br />(infant, convertible and booster seats) appropriate for their age and size <br />until at least age eight. <br />Use both the lap and shoulder belts when available, and make <br />sure the lap belt stays snug and low on the hips. Verify the shoulder belt <br />stays snug across the chest and collarbone. Fines for unrestrained <br />passengers start at $25.00 plus court costs. <br />CITY CODE <br />REGULATES FENCES <br />Section 9.11.17 (Fences) of the City Code states: "Fences shall <br />be located entirely on the owner's property and the fence location and <br />placement shall be the owner's responsibility. Fences shall be located <br />such that they do not interfere with traffic visibility." <br />NOTE: There is no reference as to distance from the property <br />line. Front yard fences can be a maximum of 4 feet in height. Rear <br />yard privacy fences over 6 feet in height require a permit, with a maximum <br />of 8 feet allowed. Plans must be submitted showing how the fence is to <br />be constructed. <br />ATTENTION MUNICIPAL <br />UTILITY CUSTOMERS <br />A Consumer Confidence Report addressing Ramsey's water <br />quality is available by calling City Hall at 427- 1410. <br />Don 't ever slam the door; you might want to go back. — Don Herold <br />CURFEW <br />ORDINANCE <br />In general, Ramsey's curfew ordinance <br />makes it unlawful for juveniles to be in any public <br />place in the City during the following times: <br />Juveniles under the age of 12 <br />1) Any time between 9 p.m. on any Sunday, <br />Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday <br />and 5 a.m. the following day. <br />2) Any time between 10 p.m. on any Friday <br />or Saturday and 5 a.m. the following day. <br />Juveniles ages 12 to 14 <br />1) Any time between 10 p.m. on any Sunday, <br />Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or <br />Thursday and 5 a.m. the following day. <br />2) Any time between 11 p.m. on any Friday <br />or Saturday and 5 a.m. the following day. <br />Juveniles ages 15 to 17 <br />1) Any time between 11 p.m. on any Sunday, <br />Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or <br />Thursday and 5 a.m. the following day. <br />2) Any time between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. <br />on any Saturday or Sunday. <br />Exceptions are allowed for young people <br />who are in front of their own residence, with their <br />parents, going to or coming from a place of <br />employment, attending school or social functions, <br />or on an errand for a parent. A copy of the entire <br />ordinance can be obtained at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center during normal business hours. The curfew <br />law is meant to keep young people out of trouble <br />and out of danger. <br />VOICE MAIL AVAILABLE <br />AFTER HOURS AT CITY HALL <br />The City of Ramsey's voice mail system <br />allows residents the opportunity to leave a message <br />at City Hall during non - business hours by calling <br />427 -1410 before 8:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. If <br />you choose to leave a message, your call will be <br />returned the following business day. This number <br />should not be used for emergencies. <br />
