This event was in conjunction with the MNDoT Partnership program, in <br />which the City of Ramsey supplied the volunteers and MNDoT paid for landscape <br />design and plantings on the right -of -way. Patti Stohmayer, design coordinator <br />and Scott Robinson from MNDoT Environmental Services also helped with the <br />plantings. <br />But before any of this could happen, the City of Ramsey Parks employees <br />were on site Thursday and Friday sorting and placing potted plants in the <br />designated areas. They also hauled mulch and had it ready for the volunteers. <br />So when the volunteers arrived Saturday morning everything was in place and <br />ready to be planted. In all, twelve beds were planted by 12:30 p.m. <br />Other volunteers were lined up for other projects around the City. <br />Volunteers from the Shademakers planted wildflowers and 24 rose bushes in <br />the Trott Brook Cemetery roadside; volunteers from Lord of Life Church did <br />plantings around water retention basis; and Karlyn Beer, a Govenor's Scholarship <br />recipient worked with Senior volunteers to do the plantings for the public areas <br />around Savannah Oaks. <br />All in all, the spring plantings went very well and many thanks to the <br />myriad of volunteers and the City Parks Staff for making this project a success. <br />Ramsey Resident <br />Ramsey Municipal Center <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW <br />Ramsey, MN 55303 <br />PRSORT STD <br />U.S. POSTAGE PAID <br />ANOKA, MN <br />55303 <br />PERMIT NO. 131 <br />POSTAL CUSTOMER <br />
