We have added highly skilled British Soccer Trainers
to our program for the competitive level teams and we have guaranteed one
tournament for each team in the registration fee. Also included in the registration
fee will be a Goalkeeper Development Clinic and Player Development Clinic,
which will be put on by state certified coaches from Minnesota Youth Soccer
Association. Our goal in the Northern Lights Soccer Program is to provide the
bet competitive soccer program possible at a very reasonable cost for the
residents of Ramsey and the surrounding communities. We are still accepting
player registration for competitive teams at certain age groups. Call the RYAA
hotline at 763 - 422 -9555 for details.
The British are coming, Again!
RYAA and NLS are hosting their third annual British Soccer Camp in
conjunction with Challenger Sports' British Soccer Division. Last year we saw
our camp double in size to 68 participants and the enthusiasm of the 5 trainers
was incredible; the kids loved the accents as well as the skills they had to
demonstrate. Bring your son or daughter out to learn soccer from British Trainers!
The dates of the camp will be June 10th through June 14th, 2002. Fee will be
$90 for the 1 /2 day camp (3 hrs per day) and $140 for the full day camp (6 hrs
per day). $5 discount if your registration form and $30 non - refundable deposit
is received by April 15th. Fundraisers will be available to offset the cost of
camp. Call the RYAA Hotline at 763 - 422 -9555 or visit our website at http: //
www.ryaa.org for registration information.
NLS will be teaming up with North Metro Soccer Association and the
State Referee Association to offer referee certification and re- certification clinics.
Clinics will be held at Oakview Middle School in Andover on March 16th and
the 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Day one is for recreational soccer referees,
day two is for currently licensed referees needing re- certification and both days
are necessary for competitive soccer referees. Fees are $10 for the facility
usage and an additional fee ($20 or $25) for the license. We are in need of
older youths or adults to be certified for competitive soccer games due to our
program growing faster than our referee pool. If you are a currently licensed
referee please let us know; if you were licensed last year you must go through
the one -day re- certification class on the 23rd. Also, Minnesota State law requires
that you successfully pass the referee certification course before you are eligible
to work as a referee for RYAA/NLS or any other club in the state. Call the
RYAA hotline at 763 - 422 -9555 or visit our website at http: / /www.ryaa.org for
registration and class information.
The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up. — Mark Twain
