CITY NEWSLETTER <br />4 TH ANNUAL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />'HAPPY DAYS" FESTIVAL <br />• <br />• <br />Mark your calendars and dust off your dancing shoes... <br />the City of Ramsey "Happy Days" Festival is coming, <br />September 13t & 14th. <br />The Teen Dance will be held Friday, September 13t at <br />Lord of Life Community Life Center. Saturday the 14th, will be <br />full of fun activities for the whole family. The Car Show and <br />Craft /Flea Market will start off the day at 10:00 a.m., followed <br />by lots of kid's events, 5k Run, Parade, Street Dance, Food <br />& Fun! All Saturday events will take place at Ramsey City Hall. <br />Once again, the Rockin' Hollywoods will be featured at the Street <br />Dance. <br />Kids Events — Kids will be entertained by clowns, <br />Oscar & 1 /2 Pint, Anoka Police Canine Show, Petting Zoo, and <br />more. Watch for a complete schedule of events to be announced <br />soon. <br />Parade—We are very proud of our parade and hope to <br />make it even bigger and better this year. The parade is a great, <br />inexpensive way to promote your business or community group. <br />Entry forms will be mailed to all area businesses. If you <br />need a form or more information please call LuAnn Brozak at <br />763 - 753 -9982 or 763 - 421 -6801 or e -mail her at <br />countryprinting@aol.com. <br />Car Show — The car show will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the <br />upper parking lot and lawn area at Ramsey City Hall. <br />The car show is open to all years. There will be door <br />prizes and a top ten pick. The Car Show pre -entry fee is $5.00 <br />before August 1, 2002 — which will include a special drawing <br />worth $150.00. Entries the day of the show will be $10.00. <br />Safety inspections will be held from 10:00 a.m. —1:00 p.m. <br />For entry forms or information call Jim Green at 763- <br />323 -3383 after 6:00 p.m. or Heidi Nelson at Ramsey City Hall <br />at 763 - 433 -9817 from 8:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. <br />Crafters Needed!!! - Call Cindy McKay at 763 -422- <br />0636 for information and entry forms. <br />May /JUNE 2002, VOLUME 17, No. 3 <br />RAMSEY LIONS <br />COMMUNITY PICNIC <br />The Ramsey Lions will be hosting the annual <br />community picnic at Central Park on Saturday, June <br />1, 2002. Please join us for this free fun family <br />event. For kids under 12, there will be free games, <br />including a petting zoo, and a free hotdog and pop. <br />The Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts from pack <br />#362 will be volunteering their time to assist with <br />this event and will provide a demonstration rocket <br />launch. The stage will feature dance and karate <br />demonstrations in the afternoon followed by an <br />evening musical performance by "The Law ". The <br />Lions wellness van will be open in the afternoon. <br />The Fire Department will be selling grilled corn -on- <br />the -cob and the Ramsey Lions will be selling pork <br />chops, brats, and much more. More activities and <br />demonstrations to be announced. Check our <br />website (www.RamseyLions.org) for pictures from <br />last years picnic and a schedule of events <br />LOCKOUT FEES <br />Beginning January 1, 2002, the Ramsey <br />Police Department will be charging a service fee of <br />$20 for performing vehicle lockouts. The decision <br />to add a fee for performing this service was made <br />due to the increase in calls for service in other areas <br />of public safety. The Police Department receives <br />an average of over 350 vehicle lockouts per year. <br />
