Anoka
Conservation honored a group of approximately fifty volunteers with a banquet
meal and a slide presentation by Ed Pembleton of the Aldo Leopold Educational
Project. Mr. Pembleton accompanied the slide presentation of wildlife photography
with reading from the Sand County Almanac. The renovated two -story farmhouse,
which is part of the 140 -acre Riverfront Park System, was open for viewing and
was one of the highlights of the evening. Volunteers were presented with a copy
of the Sand County Almanac, which is the primary curriculum for the Aldo Leopold
Education project, whose objective is to teach the public about humanity's ties to
the natural world and to provide leadership in the effort to conserve and protect
the earth's natural resources. Frank and Emily Kvidera of Stacy were the lucky
winners of the evening's drawing. An intarsia blue heron was crafted and donated
for the drawing by Dick Arndt, spouse of ACD's administrative assistant Marialice
Arndt. Arndt commented "the evening was a wonderful opportunity to experience
fellowship with our volunteers and to enjoy the wonderful old home by the river."
R amsey Resident
Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
PRSORT STD
U.S. POSTAGE PAID
ANOKA, MN
55303
PERMIT No. 131
POSTAL CUSTOMER
