CITY NEWSLETTER ANNUAL PET CLINIC MAy/JUNE 2003, VOLUME 18, No.3 .RAMSEY LIONS ~n~ COMMUNITY - ' PICNIC - JUNE 7 Ramsey's annual spring pet vaccination clinic will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2003, from 8:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m. in the garages of the lower level of the Police Building located on the Ramsey Municipal Center campus at 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW. Please use the Nowthen Boulevard/County Road 5 entrance and follow signs. Details about the veterinary clinic and exact prices were not available at publication time, but the expectation is that, as in past years, the following shots will be offered at a discounted rate: Rabies (canine and feline) DHLP-P (canine) (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) Pan RC-C-P (feline) (Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia, Pneumonitis, Clamydia) Dogs and cats must be at least three months of age to be vaccinated for rabies. City Code requires that all dogs and cats be licensed and vaccinated against rabies. City personnel will be available to issue dog and cat licenses and identification tags at the pet clinic. If your dog or cat has been vaccinated recently but you do not have a current license, you may obtain a license at the clinic by bringing in the current rabies vaccination certificate. The license fee is normally $8.00 for neutered males and females and $20.00 for un-neutered males and females, but will be reduced to $5.00 for neutered males and females and $10.00 for un-neutered males and females during the Pet Clinic. Dogs and cats must be licensed when they reach six months of age. To be eligible to receive the lower prices at the pet clinic for vaccinations, all residents must purchase a license for their cat or dog if they do not already have a current one. Licenses are good for a maximum of two years, so please bring your paper copy with you to the pet clinic - the tags are not dated. If planning to pay by check, please bring two check blanks. Payment for licenses goes to the City of Ramsey. Payment for vaccinations goes to the veterinary clinic. All animals must be leashed when brou2ht to the clinic. This is a great opportunity to protect your pet, yourself and your community through low-cost pet vaccinations. Please call City Hall at 763-427-1410 if you have any questions. The Ramsey Lions will be hosting the annual community picnic at Central Park: on Saturday, June 7, 2003, starting at 12:00 noon. Please join us for this free fun family event. F or lads under 12 there are free games including a petting zoo and free hotdog and pop. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from pack: 362 will be volunteering their time to assist with the event. The stage will feature l<arate and stunt bil<e demonstrations in the afternoon followed by an evening musical performance by "The Law". The Lions wellness van will be open in the afternoon. The Fire Department will be selling grilled corn-on-the-cob and the Ramsey Lions will be selling porl< chops, brats and more. More activities and demonstrations to be announced.
