WWW.CI.RAMSEY.MN.Us.FEB2004.VOLUMEI9.No. 2 <br /> <br />1< F FIREFIGHTERS THE CITY OF RAMSEY IS SEEKING <br /> <br />WANTED VOLUNTEERS FOR THE RAMSEY POLICE <br />RESERVE DIVISION <br /> <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Fire Department is <br />accepting applications for paid on-call firefighters. <br />The Fire Department is looking for men and women <br />who are at least 18 years of age, responsible, <br />enthusiastic, and willing to serve their community at <br />anytime. <br />The Fire Department currently has 35 <br />firefighters who respond to a variety of emergency <br />and non-emergency events related to fires, hazardous <br />materials, rescue, confined space rescue, and water <br />rescue. Firefighters are also responsible for fire <br />inspection, investigation, education, and pre-planning <br />within the community. The 2004 hourly rate is $12.50 <br />for training, meetings and fire calls. <br />If you are interested in learning more about <br />becoming a City of Ramsey firefighter, please call <br />763-433-9830 by February 28, 2004 to RSVP for the <br />Firefighter Orientation. The orientation will be held <br />Thursday, March 18, 2004, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. at <br />Fire Station #1 (15050 Armstrong Blvd). <br />Remember!! No experience is necessary and women <br />and people of color are encouraged to apply. <br /> <br />TENTH ANNuAL <br />MAYORS' PRAYER BREAKFAST <br /> <br />The Tenth Annual Mayors' Prayer Breal(fast <br />for Andover, Anoka, Ramsey Youth First is being <br />hosted by Mayor Tom Oamec and the City of Ramsey, <br />Friday, March 19th, 2004 at 7: 00 a.m. at Lord of Life <br />Lutheran Church, 14501 Nowthen Blvd. NW, <br />Ramsey. Tickets are $15.00/ ea. A table of eight <br />can be reserved for $100.00. Some activities include assisting at community <br />events, conducting uniformed patrols, and assisting in times of <br />natural disaster. Applicants need not be interested in law <br />enforcement as a career to be considered for the position. <br />Some requirements for this volunteer position include that <br />the applicant must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma <br />or OED, and possess a valid MN drivers license with a good driving <br />record. All applicants must submit to a thorough background checlc <br />Other requirements apply and are included on the Ramsey Police <br />Reserve application that may be obtained at the Ramsey Police <br />Station, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, from 9:00 a.m. to <br />4:00 p.m. Application deadline is Friday, March 5, 2004, 4:00 <br />p.m. This is an un-paid volunteer position. <br />For further information, call Officer Franl(furth at 763- <br />427-6812. <br /> <br />RAMSEY CITY RESIDENTS SOUGHT <br />To SERVE ON CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is currently seel(ing eligible nominees <br />to fill vacancies on the City's Charter Commission. Ramsey <br />residents interested in serving on this Commission are requested <br />to submit a letter of interest/application to Jo Thieling, City Clerk, <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br />Letters of application should contain the applicant's name, address, <br />telephone number, work experience, education and any experience <br />in municipal affairs. In addition, applicants should include a <br />statement listing their reasons for seel(ing appointment to the <br />Charter Commission. <br />The City will submit its list of eligible nominees to the <br />Chief Judge of the District Court who will make the appointments <br />to the Charter Commission. Interested persons may also submit <br />their application directly to the Chief Judge who is the Honorable <br />Joseph Quinn and whose address is: Anoka County Courthouse, <br />325 East Main Street, Anoka, MN 55303. <br />
