<br />LIVING GREEN ExpO
<br />
<br />Plan now to attend the annual Living
<br />Green Expo on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday,
<br />May 2 at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds.
<br />This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
<br />both days. Parking is free, secure bike storage
<br />is available, and attendees who ride the bus
<br />will get a free ride home. Free Blue Sky Guides,
<br />which contain over $5,000 in discounts for
<br />products and services from local businesses
<br />(retail value of $20), will be given to the first
<br />200 attendees each day (limit one per family),
<br />compliments of Great River Energy.
<br />The 2004 Living Green Expo will
<br />feature over 200 exhibitors showcasing
<br />environmentally sound products, services, and
<br />practices. Additionally, workshops will feature
<br />everything from how to compost and reduce
<br />toxicity in your home to using the latest energy-
<br />saving technology and cool(ing with organic,
<br />locally grown food. This family-friendly event
<br />will include art displays, children's activities,
<br />food, and musical entertainment.
<br />Businesses, food organizations, state
<br />and local agencies, and environmental groups
<br />will provide information about new
<br />technologies, renewable resources, products
<br />made from both recycled and sustainably
<br />grown materials and more. The Expo will
<br />feature sustainable products and services
<br />created by local companies, and will include
<br />exhibits and workshops on transportation,
<br />home building and remodeling, energy, yard
<br />and garden, food and agriculture, arts and
<br />culture, and household products and practices.

<br />If you are a new resident of the City
<br />of Ramsey, please visit the Municipal Center
<br />between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-
<br />Friday to picl( up a new resident packet and
<br />your recycling bin. The Municipal Center is
<br />located at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, north
<br />of Ramsey Elementary School on the opposite
<br />side of the road.

<br />This year marks the "30th Anniversary" of the City of Ramsey!
<br />The Ramsey Happy Days celebration, scheduled for Saturday, September
<br />18th, 2004, will celebrate this milestone for our community! Events for
<br />this years event include the Teen Dance on Friday, September 17th at
<br />Lord of Life Church, and numerous events on Saturday the 18th, including
<br />a craft fair, car show, children's games, parade and evening street dance
<br />featuring the Rockin' Hollywoods. The Happy Days Committee is seel(ing
<br />volunteers to assist with planning and coordinating events during the Happy
<br />Days celebration. Additionally, the committee is seeking cash and prize
<br />donations from area businesses to support the event. If you are interested

<br />
<br />All it takes is one hour! Give 1 hour a week or 2 hours a month
<br />and you will receive a heart-warming reward. You will be refreshed and
<br />happy lmowing that you delivered a dose offriendship and vital nutrition
<br />to a home-bound person!
<br />We need your help to deliver hot nutritious lunches every
<br />weekday. Meals on Wheels Volunteers are criticial to enabling the elderly
<br />to age in place. That means people get to stay at home - where they
<br />want to be.
<br />Contribute to the wellness of your community by helping a home-
<br />bound neighbor. We have mid-day volunteer opportunities. Join us! Call

<br />ANOKA COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS

<br />This year we have a totally new offering of classes designed to
<br />enhance your gardening sl(ills. All classes are presented by Anoka County
<br />Master Gardeners.
<br />Perennials 101, April 1, 7:00 p.m. - $15.00: This class gives you
<br />the basics on selection of perennials for continuous color, planting,
<br />maintenance, and division of those faithful flowers.
<br />Low Input Lawn Care, April 13, 7:00 p.m. - $15.00: Do you
<br />want to spend less time watering, mowing and fertilizing your lawn? You'll
<br />receive the Upper Midwest Home Lawn Care Schedule and learn the
<br />University of Minnesota's latest research on low maintenance lawns.
<br />Pre-registration is required at least one weel( before the class
<br />(space is limited). All classes will be held at the Bunker Hills Activities
<br />Center, 550 Bunker Lal(e Blvd. NW, Andover.
