<br />3 <br /> <br />RAMSEyKm'S <br /> <br />SAFETY CAMP <br />JULY 20TH & 21ST <br /> <br /> <br />Registration forms for the 3rd annual Ramsey Kid's Safety Camp <br />are now available at the Police Department, City Hall, and on the web at <br />www.ci.ramsey.mn.us. Eligible campers are youth entering 3rd and 4th <br />grades in the Fall of2004 (current 2nd and 3rd graders). Entering 5th graders <br />will have an opportunity to attend the camp if there are available spaces. <br />The camp is limited to 120 children and will be filled on a first come basis. <br />Camp is held at the Boy Scout Camp, located off of Hwy 47. <br />There is a $25 registration fee that includes: Two days of adult <br />supervision; activities, supplies, lunches, snacks and beverages; bil(e helmet <br />and fitting; Safety Camp t-shirt and hat; and a family BBQ and awards <br />ceremony. Limited scholarships are available. <br />If you have any questions about camp, please contact the Ramsey <br />Police Department at (763) 433-9880. <br /> <br /> <br />NATIONAL NIGHT OUT (NNO) <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 3,2004 <br /> <br />On the evening of Tuesday, August 3rd 2004, from approximately <br />6:00 - 9:00 p.m. the entire nation will be celebrating National Night Out. <br />Police officers, fire fighters and city officials will be out visiting <br />neighborhoods. There will be numerous neighborhood parties ranging from <br />dessert parties to contests. <br /> <br />National Night Out is designed to: <br /> <br />. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. <br />. Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs. <br />. Strengthen neighborhood and police community partnerships. <br />. Send a message to criminals letting them lmow that neighborhoods are <br />organized and fighting bacl(. <br /> <br />If you would lil(e to host a blocl( party and be included in visits <br />from the police and fire departments, you can request a registration form <br />by calling (763) 427-6812 or on the web at www.ci.ramsey.mn.us/ <br />departments/police/NNO.asp. Registration forms are due by July 27th. <br />After your registration has been received, you will receive specific planning <br />information for your event. <br />New registrants will receive FREE picnic packs for their event <br />this year! If you have any questions regarding National <br />Night Out, please feel free to contact Chandra Kreyer, Crime Prevention <br />Specialist at 763.433.9891 or via email atclaeyer@ci.ramsey.mn.us. <br /> <br />SIREN OBSERVERS <br />NEEDED <br /> <br />The Ramsey Police Department needs <br />volunteers to monitor and report on the <br />performance of the City's 17 storm alert <br />sirens the first Wednesday of every month <br />at 1 :00 p.m.. <br />Although computers monitor the sirens <br />electronically (called a silent test), this system <br />is not as accurate as an actual observation <br />of the siren's response to the coded alert <br />signal. Volunteers watch and listen to each <br />siren on the monthly test date, then report to <br />the Police Department what was seen and <br />heard at their sites.
