<br />Ramsey Event Promotions, Inc. would like to

<br />support and donations to our 4th of July Fun Fest held at
<br />Diamonds Sports Bar and Grill, Inc. This event is a
<br />one day family fest with carnival games, interactive
<br />inflatables, live music, food, bingo and more with
<br />proceeds donated back to local youth athletic
<br />associations. Over the last 3 years, Ramsey Event
<br />Promotions has donated over $10,000.00 bacl( to the
<br />youth athletic groups that help run this event. The

<br />The Ramsey Lions would lil(e to thanl( the many groups
<br />and individuals that contributed to this years Community Picnic
<br />at Central Parle Volunteering their time were Cheerful Chuggers
<br />4H Club, Cub Scout Pack 362, Boy Scout Troop 362, Ramsey
<br />Seniors Club, and a number of individual volunteers. Many groups
<br />participated with demonstrations and information including
<br />Ramsey Fire, Ramsey Police, Northwest RC Club, Piston
<br />Poppers Model Airplane Club, Anol(a Halloween Ambassadors,
<br />multiple square dance clubs, Ramsey Women of Today and the
<br />Anoka County 4H Dog Project. Thanks to the City of Ramsey
<br />for helping with the park preparation and usage. A big thank you
<br />to Connexus Energy and City Wide Garage Door for contributing

<br />NEW POST AND PUBLIC SAFETY
<br />& SECURITY COURSES AT
<br />TECHNICAL COLLEGE
<br />
<br />Anoka Technical College, through its Customized
<br />Training Services department, has started to offer POST (Peace
<br />Officer Standards and Training) courses and other public safety
<br />and security courses that are appropriate for security officers,
<br />protective agents, loss prevention specialists, corporate security
<br />and night club security. New class starts will continue throughout
<br />the year.
<br />"The mission ofAnoka Technical College's peace officer
<br />training is to continually enhance the professionalism of Minnesota
<br />law enforcement in serving its communities," said Joe Mulford,
<br />Anoka Technical College Dean of Customized Training Services.
<br />Board-certified classes include taser user, First
<br />Responder, and various "use of force" courseworl(. Other
<br />courses that do not apply toward the mandated continuing
<br />education credit requirements of Minnesota's public safety
<br />officials include advanced driver training, ethical standards of
<br />conduct, incident/situation assessment and response, and basic
<br />handgun use and care.
