If
you do wake up, it may be too late because the
thick, hot smoke may prevent you from being
able to exit the home. Of the total fire deaths
within the country, over half of them died in a
home without a properly worl(ing smoke
detector.
Sprinkler systems on the other hand, are
designed to control the heat and the smol(e during
a fire allowing you to get out safely and contain
the fire to its origination. Sprinklers in homes
are becoming more popular and less costly.
Today you could sprinl(le a new home for about
the same cost of carpeting it. Adding sprinklers
to existing homes becomes a little more
expensive but will save you 8-13% on your home
insurance and provide you with the security of
protecting your family and property.
With Ramsey's increased residential and
commercial growth that we see today and that
is anticipated in the future, the City made a strong
statement in adopting this ordinance with the life
safety of its residents and business owners in
mind. The Anoka County Historical Society received a generous
grant in 2003 and 2004 from the Anoka County Ag Preserves Program
to document our county's agricultural history. This event will marl( the
opening of a 1,300 square foot agriculture exhibit at the Anoka County
History Center & Library produced from the stories of farm families
around our community.
Special sponsors of this fundraising event for history are First
National Bank ofEll( River, North Country Ford, Corriveau Properties,
and Pierce Refrigeration.

People are paid not for what they know, but for what they do with what they know.
