4

THE SPIRIT AND SEASON
OF GIVING TO YOUTH!

Youth First is a partnership of people dedicated
to raising great l(ids in the Andover, Anoka and Ramsey
area. The purpose is to create a caring community for
our youth! And it is very simple to do. Taking time to
notice l(ids helps them to be great l(ids! By doing small
deeds or establishing positive relationships with children
and young adults, you are helping kids succeed in life.
All children need a solid foundation to be
successful in making positive choices while growing up.
The building blocks of that foundation are called assets.
The more assets youth have the more likely they are to
avoid risky behaviors such as alcohol, sex, smoking and
recl(less driving. Assets also lower the risk of violence,
school failure, depression and suicide.

CRIME INFO ON THE WEB!

The City of Ramsey has a wonderful feature
on our web site in which all Ramsey residents can
subscribe to and automatically receive information
posted to the web. The best part is - you can choose
the topics that you want to receive!
We regularly use our web site to post important
information regarding crimes, trends, alerts and special
events at the police department. Not only is this cost
effective, it is also quicl(er for getting information to our
residents. To receive this information as soon as it is
available, all you have to do is register your email address
with the city web site.
To register for crime alerts and police
department notices on the web site, follow these simple
instructions:
. Go to www.ci.ramsey.mn.us
. Click on "My Ramsey" and follow the link
. Enter your email address and hit "Go"
. Scroll down and choose "Police Department
Alert"
. At the bottom of that page, hit "OK"
Congratulations! You are now scheduled to
receive timely informational publications from the police
department. If there are crime prevention type
publications that we currently do not post on the web
that you would like to see, please let us lmow.

RAMSEY WINS NATIONAL A WARD
FIVE YEARS IN A Row!

The National Night Out (NNO) results are in - Ramsey
placed 23rd in the nation in our population category, which is four
ahead of our standing last year.
