The usual collection period is the first two
weekends after New Years Day. The fee charged, if any, varies
from hauler to hauler. Contact your hauler to obtain specific program
information.

Both sites will reopen April 1, 2005, weather permitting.

Another option for Ramsey Residents is the Anoka Ramsey
Farm & Garden, located at 7435 Highway 10 NW. They will be
accepting Christmas trees (NO flocked trees, wreaths, or trees
containing wire or stands) Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and
Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the month of January.

ATTENTION

RAMSEY RESIDENTS

Please help us keep snow away
from fire hydrants

Snow piled or shoveled close to hydrants
restricts operation during a fire emergency.
After a snowfall the Public Worl(s
Department is responsible for clearing snow from City
streets. Depending on the amount and type of snow
this could take several days. We are requesting your
help in keeping our fire hydrants accessible. Could
you please clear a four-foot circle around the hydrant
near your home to assure easy access for our Fire
Department?
If you have any questions or comments please
call John Nelson, Ramsey Fire Department at 763-
427-8254. Thank you for your efforts!

MAILBOX
REPLACEMENT POLICY

Mailboxes installed and maintained to City
U.S. Post Office regulations which are damaged as
a result of direct contact by City snow removal
equipment will be temporarily repaired within 48 hours
of receiving notification of such damage. If the
mailbox cannot be temporarily repaired, a portable
mailbox will be set in place so mail service will be
continued. The City will replace the damaged mailbox
structure the following spring with a standard No.1
black, white, or silver mailbox mounted on 4-by 4-
inch treated post.
Residents whose mailboxes are l(nocl(ed
down as a result of direct contact by City snow
removal equipment may request $75 allowances, if
they so choose, to replace the mailbox structures
themselves, relieving the City of any further obligation.
In such cases, the City will provide portable, temporary
mailboxes until the following spring.
Mailboxes, which are not installed to City and
U.S. Post Office regulations or are damaged due to
snow deposited from plows (versus being hit by City
snow removal equipment), will not be replaced. The
City is not responsible for damage to media or paper
boxes and will not repair them.

The best way to predict the fitture is to invent it. - Alan Kay
