COUNTY COMPOST SITES <br />OPEN FOR THE SEASON r <br />APRIL 1sT <br />Anoka County Compost Sites open now through <br />November (weather permitting) <br />Bunker Hills Compost Site location and hours: <br />13285 Hanson Blvd, Coon Rapids <br />(south of Bunker Lk. Blvd. and one mile north of Main St.) <br />Monday — Friday 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. <br />(or sunset if earlier) <br />Saturday 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. <br />Sunday Noon 5:00 p.m. <br />Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Site location and hours: <br />7701 Main Street, Lino Lakes <br />(south of35W off of Co Rd 14— <br />no exit to Co Rd 14 from 3 5 W) <br />Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. — 7:00 p.m. <br />(or sunset if earlier) <br />Saturday 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. <br />Sunday Noon — 5:00 p.m. <br />Acceptable materials: <br />Yard Waste (free of charge to Anoka County residents) <br />- debagged grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, weeds, soft - <br />bodied green plant materials, pumpkins, pine cones and needles, <br />sod (residential quantities) and acorns. <br />Tree Waste (charged by the cubic yard) - brush, logs <br />and stumps. <br />Finished compost is available at both sites on a first- <br />come, first -serve basis. In addition, at the Bunker Hills site, there <br />is screened compost and assorted mulches for sale. <br />For information about compost and mulch availability, <br />residential yard and tree waste questions, or commercial drop -off <br />of yard or tree waste, contact NRG Processing Solutions at 763- <br />767 -7964. For general questions about the compost site, call <br />Anoka County Integrated Waste Management at 763 - 323 -5730. <br />NEW IN TOWN <br />If you are a new resident of the City of Ramsey, please <br />visit the Municipal Center between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. <br />Monday- Friday to pick up a new resident packet and your recycling <br />bin. The Municipal Center is located at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />NW, north of Ramsey Elementary School on the opposite side of <br />the road. <br />AN0KA Couwiy <br />4 -H <br />FUNDRAISERS <br />The Anoka County 4 -H program will be holding <br />two fundraisers in May. The plant sale raises funds <br />to offset the cost of our 4 -H Arts -In program, the <br />auction supports general 4 -H programming. <br />Live Auction: <br />Last year a wide variety of items were <br />donated to be sold. If you are unable to attend and <br />have any items to donate or if you would like to make <br />a monetary donation, contact the Anoka County <br />Extension Office at 763 - 755 -1280. Auction will be <br />held at: <br />Anoka County Fairgrounds — 4 -H Exhibit Building <br />Saturday, May <br />7th - Auction begins at 12:00 noon <br />CURVES OF RAMSEY <br />DONATES BIG!! <br />11 <br />Plant Sale: <br />A large selection and variety of plants will be <br />available: annual bedding plants, hanging plants, <br />perennials, herbs and vegetables. Waldoch Farm <br />Greenhouse in Lino Lakes furnishes the plants. They <br />have offered 4 -H the opportunity to sell plants for <br />fundraising purposes. Plants may be purchased at: <br />Anoka County Fairgrounds — 4 -H Exhibit <br />Building <br />Friday, May 13th — 8:00 am — 6:00 pm <br />Saturday, May 14th — 8:00 am — 1:00 pm <br />For more information regarding either <br />fundraiser, please contact the University of Minnesota <br />Extension Service, Anoka County at 763 - 755 -1280. <br />Anoka County 4 -H is a non - profit organization. <br />Curves of Ramsey participated in a food drive <br />during the month of March. A goal was set for 2,000 <br />pounds of food. <br />Our generous members rose to the challenge <br />and brought in 2,041 pounds of food and $125.00 cash. <br />All donations went to N.A.C.E. which serves all of <br />Anoka County. <br />Thanks to everyone who participated. <br />
