The site, within the park dubbed the 'Discovery Garden',
features a wood 'forest ranger tower' with various play events
and is complimented by a wooden swing and seating area made
of large stones. The theme for the play area invites users to
discover various elements of the natural and manmade
environment - via a one-quarter mile long game in the landscape!
Instructions for the game as well as an interpretation of the parks
flora and fauna are located on the l(iosk. Other improvements
for park goers include irrigation of the park's entrance, as well
as a drinl(ing fountain for people and their pets.
A special thanl( you is extended to Ramsey Rotary for
providing funding for the trees, landscape plantings and
comfortable benches! The parl( is located west of Sunfish Lake
Boulevard at 6600 Alpine Drive.

rrt < ..

,!.J. -:"."";._~

Pictured at the ribbon cutting (froln left to right) are; Josh & Maddy Nonnan and
other neighborhood children (in and on the tower); Mark Riverblood, Parks and
Utilities Supervisor (holding ribbon); Todd Cook, City CouncilInember; JaInes
Pontius, Park and Recreation COInmission; Mayor TOIn Gamec (with scissors);
James Nonnan, City Administrator (partially on tower, behind the Mayor); Jill
Johns, Chair, Park and Recreation Comlnissioner (with scissors); John Satrom,
Ramsey Rotary President; David Elvig, Councilmelnber; Al Pearson
Councilmelnber; David Jeffrey, Councihnember; Mark LehInan, Park and
Recreation COInmission; TOIn LaMere, Park and Recreation COInInission; Sarah
Strolnlnen, Councihnelnber (behind LaMere); Melody Shryock, Park and
Recreation COInInission; Susan Anderson, RaInsey Rotary; Peter Morales and
faInily, Project Stone Carver; and Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer II (holding
ribbon).

FALL W ATERMAIN
FLUSHING IN OCTOBER

The City of Ramsey Utility Department will be
doing their semi-annual flushing of water mains begin-
ning Monday, October 10th through Friday, October 21 st.
Please be aware that this flushing, while it is necessary,
will create a disturbance in the system causing low pres-
sure and it may cause your water to be discolored.
