It will once again <br />be held at the Public Works facility <br />located at 14100 Jaspar St NW The <br />event is geared toward providing resi- <br />dents an opportunity to recycle items <br />not generally accepted through the <br />curbside recycling program, includ- <br />ing appliances, electronics, <br />fluorescent bulbs, tires, scrap metal, <br />and good useable furniture (ACCAP, <br /> <br />Thank You ACE! <br /> <br />Each year Ace Solid Waste <br />donates $1.00 for each new customer <br />to the city of Ramsey's Parl( program. <br />At the February 28, 2006 City <br />Council meeting, Denny Fredricl(son, <br />Operations Manager for ACE Solid <br />Waste, presented a check to the city <br />for $630 to be used for Parl( <br />Improvements in Ramsey. <br />The city of Ramsey would like <br />to express its sincere gratitude to <br />ACE Solid Waste for their generous <br />donation. <br /> <br />Denny <br />Fredrickson <br />and <br />Mayor Tom <br />Gamec <br /> <br /> <br />www.ci.ramsey.mn.us <br /> <br />Anoka County Community Action <br />Program, has sole discretion when <br />determining what is considered good, <br />useable furniture). The standard curb- <br />side recyclable materials are also <br />accepted. A fee is charged for most <br />items. A more detailed list of accept- <br />able materials, as well as prices and a <br /> <br />map, is available at <br />www.ci.ramsey.mn.us. Please note <br />that ABSOLUTELY NO refuse, yard <br />waste, hazardous materials, paint, or <br />automotive waste will be accepted. <br />For more information, please contact <br />Chris Anderson at 763-433-9905 or <br />canderson@ci.ramsey.mn.us. <br /> <br />Wood Chips Available <br /> <br />Last fall the city of Ramsey <br />Public Works Department, with the <br />help of Anoka County and many con- <br />tractors, worl(ed to remove storm <br />damaged trees throughout the city. <br />This spring the brush and trees were <br />ground up and turned into approxi- <br />mately 20,000 cubic yards of <br />woodchips. The majority of the chips <br />were hauled out and burned as an <br />alternative fuel source at an energy <br />plant in S1. Paul. The city retained a <br />portion of the wood chips that are <br />now available to residents, free of <br />charge, located at the northern part of <br />the City Hall campus at 15153 <br /> <br />Nowthen Blvd. NW, for landscaping <br />projects around the home. <br />In conjunction with the <br />Environmental Expo being held April <br />29, the Ramsey Public Worl(s <br />Department will provide assistance <br />(for one day only) loading woodchips <br />at the northern part of the City Hall <br />campus during the Expo from 8:00 <br />am-l :00 pm.
