Regional Parks, Park Reserves, and Special Features <br />• Mississippi West Regional Park: This is an existing regional park with an established <br />boundary. Mississippi West Regional Park, at nearly 280 acres, offers a variety of recreation <br />amenities including a boat launch, canoe -in campsites, shore fishing, and trails. The park <br />connects to the Mississippi River Regional Trail as well. The regional park boundary as shown <br />in Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the comprehensive plan. <br />• Rum River Central Regional Park: This is an existing regional park with an established <br />boundary. Rum River Central Regional Park, at nearly 400 acres, offers spaces for year-round <br />activities, including numerous water trails, cross-country ski trails, and areas for horseback <br />riding. The regional park boundary as shown in Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the <br />comprehensive plan. <br />Regional Trails <br />• Central Anoka Regional Trail: This is a regional trail that includes segments that are open to <br />the public as well as planned segments that will be developed in the future. The regional trail <br />travels through Ramsey, Anoka, Andover, Ham Lake, Blaine, Lino Lakes, and Centerville as it <br />connects Mississippi West Regional Park, Rum River Regional Trail, Bunker Hills Regional <br />Park, East Anoka County Regional Trail and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. The <br />regional trail alignment as shown in Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the comprehensive <br />plan. <br />• Mississippi River Regional Trail (Anoka County): This is a regional trail that is open to the <br />public. The regional trail travels through Ramsey, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Fridley as it <br />connects Mississippi West Regional Park, Rum River Regional Trail, Coon Rapids Dam <br />Regional Park, Coon Creek Regional Trail, Rice Creek West Regional Trail, and Riverfront <br />Regional Park. The regional trail alignment as shown in Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the <br />comprehensive plan. <br />• Rum River Regional Trail: This is a regional trail that includes segments that are open to the <br />public as well as planned segments that will be developed in the future. The regional trail travels <br />through Anoka, Andover, Ramsey, Oak Grove, and St. Francis as it connects Mississippi River <br />Regional Trail, Central Anoka Regional Trail, Rum River Central Regional Park, North Anoka <br />County Regional Trail Search Corridor, Sugar Hills Regional Trail and Lake George Regional <br />Park.
