<br />Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-11-366 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID-ON-CALL FIRE <br />FIGHTERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 22, 2006 staff received City Council authorization to begin a <br />recruitment process to hire six paid-on-call Fire Fighters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has requested that the Personnel Committee make a motion <br />recommending that the City Council hire the following six individuals as paid-on-call Fire <br />Fighters: Carey Schiferli, Michael Nielson, Donald Yamauchi, Robert Tiegen, Jacob Hanson, <br />and David Weigman; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.50 and would <br />begin employment on November 29,2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these individuals have successfully completed all background checks and <br />medical exams. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Hire the following six individuals as paid-on-call Fire Fighters: Carey Schiferli, Michael <br />Nielson, Donald Yamauchi, Robert Tiegen, Jacob Hanson, and David Weigman. These <br />individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.50 and would begin employment on <br />November 29, 2006. Each individual named in this resolution will serve a one-year <br />probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br />
