<br />Present
<br />Mayor Ryan Heineman, Councilmembers Eric Peters,
<br />Kristen Buscherm, Chris Riley, and Shanna Stewart.
<br />Consent Agenda
<br />Following Citizen Input, in which six people spoke, the
<br />City Council unanimously passed 18 consent items.
<br />Council Business
<br />There were three items on the Council Business docket.
<br />The first, Adopt Resolution #26-048 Accepting
<br />Bids and Awarding Contract for Countryside Estates
<br />Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #26-04.
<br />Countryside Estates was built in 1980, with an overlay
<br />added in 1995. The total length of the project is 3.17 miles.
<br />An additional 0.75-mile section was added in Wildwood
<br />Acres, built in 1989 and overlaid in 2008. Countryside
<br />Estates will be reconstructed, and Wildwood Acres will
<br />be reclaimed with new pavement installed. North Valley,
<br />Inc. was the lowest bidder on the project, and the Council
<br />unanimously passed the motion.
<br />Second case, Adopt Resolution #26 049 Accepting Bids
<br />and Awarding Contract for Section 01 Unplatted Street
<br />Reconstructions, Improvement Project #26-07. Initially
<br />constructed in 1980 and overlaid in 1999, the 1.44-mile
<br />section features some spot curbing to improve drainage.
<br />The proposed reconstruction will require more excavation
<br />in some areas, and existing curbing will be replaced with
<br />concrete. North Valley, Inc. was once again the lowest
<br />bidder on the project. Councilmember Stewart asked
<br />whether North Valley, Inc. has the capacity to complete
<br />both projects simultaneously. City Engineer Joe Feriancek
<br />confirmed that they are one of the larger contractors in the
<br />area. The Council unanimously passed the motion.
<br />The final case was to Adopt Resolution #26-050
<br />Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for MSA Bunker
<br />Lake Boulevard Reconstruction, Improvement Project
<br />#26-01. The reconstruction will impact a .47-mile stretch
<br />of Bunker Lake Boulevard from Armstrong Boulevard

<br />west to Jackal Street. It will be a full closure, and a detour is
<br />proposed. North Valley, Inc. was the lowest bidder again on
<br />this project. The Council unanimously passed the motion.
<br />The City will be working with businesses in the area,
<br />including the new Kwik Trip, which has a target opening
<br />date of July. Of the three projects, the City would like
<br />North Valley, Inc. to focus on this one first. The Council
<br />unanimously passed the motion.

<br />The Precision
<br />Driving Center
<br />of Minnesota is
<br />announcing its
<br />upcoming 55+
<br />Driver Discount
<br />Program, designed
<br />to enhance driving
<br />safety for senior drivers. The program will take place on
<br />Tuesday, March 3, from noon until 4:00 p.m., and again
<br />on Tuesday, May 19, from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the
<br />Ramsey Municipal Building, located at 7550 Sunwood
<br />Drive NW.
<br />Ramsey residents can enroll for free, thanks to the
<br />Ramsey Lions. Everyone is welcome to attend, but a
<br />fee will apply for non -Ramsey residents. Registration is
<br />required for all attendees, including those attending for
<br />free. Registration for the March class can be done the day

<br />The course will be taught by certified instructor Kelli
<br />Friese, who uses the latest research on driver safety, new
<br />laws, and vehicle technology. Completing this four-hour
<br />course every three years may make you eligible for an auto
<br />insurance discount.
