Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #26-136 <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY OF RAMSEY WILL NOT FLY A MINNESOTA <br />STATE FLAG <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 1.141, subdivision 5, requires the official state flag <br />to be flown on the State Capitol grounds at all times between sunrise and sunset; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statutes do not require municipal governments to fly the <br />official state flag; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council declares that the City of Ramsey shall not fly the current or <br />historic versions of the Minnesota state flag. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City of Ramsey hereby declares that the City will not fly either the current or <br />historic versions of the Minnesota State Flag. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />9th day of June, 2026. <br />Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />
