<br />Councilmember Peters introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #26-138 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT FOR THE CITY OF RAMSEY’S POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 465.03 requires that a city pass a resolution that <br />accepts any donations or grants; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, two-thirds majority of the council members must adopt said resolution to <br />accept the grant or donation formally; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey applied for funding through the CenterPoint Energy <br />Community Safety Grant Program for the purchase of an indoor drone system for the Ramsey <br />Police Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CenterPoint Energy has approved the City of Ramsey’s Community <br />Safety Grant application for funding in the amount of $2,493.36; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant funds will be applied toward the purchase of an indoor drone <br />system for the Ramsey Police Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the indoor drone system will expand the Ramsey Police Department’s <br />existing drone program and provide officers with an additional tool to enhance officer safety, <br />community safety, communication, and de-escalation during certain police responses. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts grant funds from CenterPoint Energy in the <br />amount of $2,493.36. <br /> <br />2) That the grant funds shall be applied to the purchase of an indoor drone system for the <br />Ramsey Police Department. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Heineman <br /> Councilmember Peters <br /> Councilmember Olson <br /> Councilmember Buscher <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> Councilmember Stewart <br /> <br />
