Subd.--2t 3. Whirling Devices, Searchlights, Streamers, Balloons and Other Gas <br />Gilled Figures. Whirling devices, searchlights, streamers, balloons, and other gas filled 5gures, are <br />prohibited except as a temporary sign as provided for in Section 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs). <br /> <br /> Subd. $ 4. Flashing Signs, Devices or Lights. Flashing signs, devices or lights are <br />not permitted in any district except as provided for in 9.12.03, Subd. 7 (General Provisions - <br />Illumination). <br /> <br /> Subd. 4-5. Portable Signs. Portable signs are prohibited except as temporary signs <br />as provided for in Section 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs). <br /> <br />Subd. $ 6. <br /> <br />Projecting Signs. No projecting sign shall be permitted in any district. <br /> <br />Subd. 6 _7. Roof Signs. Roof signs are prohibited in any zoning d/strict. <br /> <br /> Subd. g 8. Signs on Parked Vehicles. Signs painted or mounted on or attached to <br />vehicles, trailers or equipment where the apparent primary purpose of the vehicle or equipment is to <br />display said sign are prohibited. However, this is not in any way intended to prohibit signs placed on or <br />affixed to vehicles and trailers, such as lettering on motor vehicles, where the sign is incidental to the <br />primary use of the vehicle, trailer and/or any other type of mobile equipment.. . <br /> <br /> Subd. 8 _9. Signs on Trees and Utility Poles. Signs which are attached or otherwise <br />affixed to trees or other vegetation or utility poles are prohibited. · <br /> <br /> Subd. 9 1_9_0. Signs Painted on Wails. Signs Painted on an exterior wall, fascia, <br />parapet or a chimney of a building or on a fence are prohibited. - <br /> <br /> Subd. :l-0 11. Signs Which Imitate Traffic Control Devices. Signs which imitate,. <br />interfere with, obstruct the view of, or can be confused with any authorized traffic control sign, signal, <br />or other device are prohibited. <br /> <br />Subd. -lq- 12. Billboards. No billboards shall be permitted in any zoning district of the <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br />9.12.05 Temporary Signs. The following are the only type of temporary signs permitted in any <br />district unless other types are specifically allowed in the individual zoning districts. <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Grand Openings and Public Events. Portable Signs, Balloons, <br />Gas Filled Figures, Streamers, Whirling Devices and Revolving Searchlights or any such sign <br />resembling the same, are prohibited from use within the city e>~cept for public events, or when used as <br />an integral part of the des of a building, ,, ................. ,j ............... v ............ or grand <br />openings (the initial commencement of business). In the case of grand openings or public events, th¢3¢ <br />dcviccs whirling devices, streamers and r.evolving searchlights shall be allowed for the week only of said <br />public event or grand opening; portable sig-ns and balloons shall be allowed for up to thirty (30) days <br />surrounding the public event or ~and opening. <br /> <br />391 <br /> <br /> <br />
