9.12.15 Permit Fees. The permit fee for permanent and temporary signs shall be as provided by <br />City Council resolution. <br /> <br />9.12.16 Exemptions <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. The exemptions permitted by this Section shall apply only to the <br />requirement of a permit and/or fee and shall not be construed as relieving the installer of the sign, or the <br />owner of the property upon which the sign is located, from conforming with the other provisions of this <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. A permit, but no fee, is required under this Section for the following simons: <br /> <br />a. Temporary or permanent signs erected by a non-profit organization, as defined by <br /> Internal Revenue Code, Section 503C. <br /> <br />b. Signs erected by a governmental unit or public school district. <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />Portable si~.oTns, balloons, streamers, gas filled figures, whirling devices and <br />revolving searchlights used in conjunction with a public event or grand opening for <br />thc wcck a per/od of up to thirty (30) days surrounding e-f-the public event or grand <br />opening only. <br /> <br />On-site construction signs having a sign area of eighty (80) square feet or lesS. ' <br /> <br />On premise directional/information silo-ns having a si..o-n area of our (4) square feet or <br />less. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. No permit or fee is required under this Section for the following signs: <br /> <br />a. A window sign not exceeding thirty percent (30%) o. fthe window area. <br /> <br />eb. Holiday decorations temporarily displayed on traditionally accepted civic, patriotic, <br /> or reli~ous holidays. <br /> <br />On premise address or nameplate identification signs having, a sign area of four (4) <br />square feet or less. <br /> <br />ed. <br /> <br />Memorial plaques or tablets, grave markers, statutory, or other remembrances of <br />persons or events that are non-commercial in nature. <br /> <br />Interior signs which are fully located within the interior of any building or stadium, <br />or within, an enclosed lobby or court of any building, or in the lobby or entrance of <br /> <br />4OO <br /> <br /> <br />
