Councilmember <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-06- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPRHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMEN1)IVIENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION CHANGE FROM LOW <br />DENSITY RESIDENT[AL TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, AND <br />AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN <br /> <br /> WITEREAS, on May 6, 2002, the City of Ramsey received a request for an amendlnent <br />to the Comprehensive Plan from Tim Pomerleau of Oak Creek Builders for the purpose of <br />changing the land use designation from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential <br />in the Comprehensive Plan for the following legally described property:. <br /> <br />That part of the north half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 32, <br />Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota, lying northerly of 153''d Avenue NW and lying <br />easterly of the easterly right of way line of Anoka County Highway right-of-way Plat <br />No. 1, except that part thereof lying west of the following described line: <br /> <br />Commencing at the intersection of the north line of said north half of the ..Southwest <br />Quarter with the east line of said Anoka county Highway right-of-way Plat No. 1; thence <br />easterly along the said north line 214:98 feet to the point of begimfing of the line to be <br />described; thence southerly at an angle to the left from said north line of 93 degrees 04 <br />minutes 26 seconds a dist~-nce of 196.19 feet, more or less, to the northerly line of said <br />153''~ Avenue NW and said line there terminating. <br /> <br />(the Subject Property) <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2002 shows the Subject property <br />designated land use as Low Density Residential; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicant is requesting that the subject property designated [and use be <br />changed to Medium Density Residential; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the gamsey Planning Commission inet on June 5, 2003, conducted a public <br />hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for ann amendment <br />to the Comprehensive Plan; and " <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, tlxe adjacent land uses. are designated as low density residential and medium <br />density residential and that the proposed medium density residential use allows for development <br />up to seven units per acre; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property is bounded by County Road 57 and Alpine Drive; and <br /> <br /> <br />
