c. Sand, gravel, or crushed rock for base or surfacing courses; <br /> <br />d. Aggregates for bituminous surfacing, including the hauling of <br /> bituminous mixtures from the mixing plant; <br /> <br />Aggregates for concrete base or pavement, including the hauling of <br />concrete batches from batch plants; and <br /> <br />£ Bituminous materials and portland cement for paving mixtures. <br /> <br />Earth Material - is any rock, material, soil or fill and/or any combination <br /> <br />thereof. <br /> <br />Engineer - shall mean the City Engineer of the City. <br /> <br /> Erosion - is the wearing away of the wound surface as a result of the movement <br />of wind, water and/or ice. <br /> <br /> Excavation - is the mechanical removal of earth material below finish grade and <br />shall be limited to only those areas needing soil correction, and shall not include the exporting of <br />earth material from the work site. <br /> <br />Existing Grade - is the gade prior to grading. <br /> <br /> Fill - is a deposit of earth material placed by artificial memos so as to <br />elevate the grade of a work site. <br /> <br /> Finish-Grade - is the final'grade of the work site which conforms to the <br />approved plan. <br /> <br />Grade - shall mean the vertical location of the ground surface. <br /> <br /> Grading - is any excavating or filling or combination thereof, with no <br />importing or exporting of material from another work site. <br /> <br /> Key - is a designed compacted fill placed in a trench excavated in earth <br />material beneath the toe of a proposed fill slope. <br /> <br /> License Fee - is the annual charge for a permit as required herein. The <br />term "license", "conditional use permit" and "permit" as used herein may be used <br />interchangeably. <br /> <br /> Mining - is the excavation of earth material and exporting that material <br />from the work site. <br /> <br /> Operator - is any person or persons, any partnership, limited partnership <br />or corporation, or any association of persons, engaged in Surface mining operations and <br />issued a permit therefore pursuant to this City Code. <br /> <br />244 <br /> <br /> <br />
