Principal <br />Planner Trudgeon noted that all of the driveways will be at least 25 feet, with the exception of <br />two or ttu'ee lots. Councilmember Strommen replied that her concern is that there will not be on <br />street parking. Principal Planner Trudgeon noted that that is very typical of a townhome <br />developlnent on a private street. Councilmember Strommen inquired as to how many off-street <br />parking odes will be included near the cottage homes. Principal Planner Trudgeon replied 12. <br />Mr. Bjerstedt stated that they are able to adjust the home design to accommodate more space on <br />the driveway. Principal Planner Trudgeon pointed out three lots that would have driveways less <br />than 25 feet. City Attorney Goodrich noted that the Council could require that no less than 50 <br />percent of the driveways be less than 25 feet. Mr. Bjerstedt replied that there are only three lots <br />where the driveways are less than 25 feet otherwise and the driveways will be at least 25 feet. <br />Councihnember Strommen inquired if it would be possible to meet the 24 foot requirement on <br />those three lots. Mr. Bjerstedt replied yes. City Attorney Goodrich recommended that language <br />be included in the motion that no more than three of the units have less than 25 foot driveways. <br />Councihnember Strommen replied that she could agree with that. <br /> <br />Motion was amended to include the following condition: that no more than three of the units <br />have less than a 25 foot driveway. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councihnember Stron~en inquired if there was any possibility of removing <br />the single lot on the northern po~ntion of the development. City Attorney Goodrich advised <br />Councilmember Strommen to make the appropriate motion. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councitmember Zimmerman, to amend the <br />motion and remove the single lot on the northern portion of the development. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Elvig stated that he was not in favor of adjusting Mr. <br />Bjerstedt's plan that far because there were are other similar conditions throughout the <br />development. The decision of wanting open space behind their home will have to be made by a <br />potential new owner. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that some of the basic problems are <br />caused because the lots are smaller. <br /> <br />Amendment failed. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Strommen, and Zirmnerman. Voting No: <br />Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, and Pearson. Abstained: Councilmember <br />Kurak. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
