9.11.02 Accessory Uses <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Every private in-ground swimming pool or commercial <br />fishing pond shall be enclosed by a fence or wall not less than four (4) feet high to <br />prevent uncontrolled access by small children. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. The exterior storage of not more than one (1) automobile which <br />does not have a current license plate shall be considered an accessory use, but two (2) or <br />more shall constitute an auto salvage business and shall not be permitted as an accessory <br />use. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Any proposed accessory building shall be located on the parcel <br />of land so as to allow for orderly future re-subdivision of a parcel on which the building <br />is to be located. Prior to issuance of a building permit for the building, the applicant shall <br />provide the Building Official with a sketch plan showing the location of the proposed <br />building. The Building Official shall advise the landowner if the proposed location will <br />not allow for orderly future subdivision of the parcel. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. No accessory building shall be constructed on any lot prior to <br />the time of construction of the principal building. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. <br /> <br />The height, of detached accessory buildings -shall not exceed twenty- <br />two (22) feet env.~w-~ .... ~-~*~;'~ ~^r ~,~..~ Me~opo!itmx Urban Set'Ace <br />Ar-~a on parcels 2.5 acres (108,900 square feet) or greater in size. <br /> <br />The height of detached accessory buildings shall not exceed sixteen <br />(16) feet on prop~~ ~nz~e cf ~.e Mztrcpolitm: Urban Se~.Scz )~za <br />parcels 43,559 square feet and less in size, <br /> <br />The height of. attached accessory buildings shall not exceed the <br />height of the principal structure. <br /> <br />A variance will be required to exceed the established height <br />restrictions for accessory buildings. The variance shall be <br />processed in accordance with the procedures established in Section <br />9.03.05 of the City Code. Criteria governing consideration of a <br />variance request to exceed height restrictions on accessory <br />buildings shall include, but not be limited to the following: <br /> <br />Whether the variance will impair an adequate supplY-of <br />light and air to adjacent property. <br />Whether the variance will have the effect of allowing a use <br /> <br />that is prohibited in the appliCable zoning diStrict. <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br /> <br />
