Weicht, representing Larry Hickman <br />Proposed Resolution for Findings of Fact <br />Proposed Resolution for Interim Use Permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State law requires notification of the public hearing to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries of <br />the subject property and property owners within that radius were notified~ <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Larry Hickman owns Plants and Things furniture and retail business located on the comer of Sunfish <br />· Lake Blvd. and U.S. Highway #10. Mr. and Mrs. Dillon reside on the homestead located next to the <br />Plants and Things operation. : <br /> <br />Mr. Hickman recently purchased eleven acres from .Mr:' and Mrs. Dillon, which includes the <br />homestead parcel. Mr. Hickman is in the process of re-platting the comer lot and the homestead lot <br />into one commercial lot to facilitate the construction of a new 49,100 square foot facility for the <br />operation of Plants and Things. <br /> <br />During negotiations for the purchase of the property, Mr. Hickman a~eed to allow the Dillon's to <br />continue to live on the subject property until December 31, 2003. Upon the applicant recording the <br />f'mal plat of Plants and Things Subdivision, two principal structures will be maintained on one <br />parcel. City Code states that only one principal structure is permitted on a parcel. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting to operate Plants and Things and allow Mr. and Mrs. DillOn to reside on <br />the subject property until the Dillon's move or until December 31, 2003 when the %~reement <br />between Mr. Hickrnan and the Dillon's expires. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission should review the request based on the findings of fact. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
