Voting Yes: Chair Bennett; Commissioners Barten, Anderson, Arts, Ealain, <br />Moore, and Olson. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />5. COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.01: Acknowledge the Water Play Project at The Waterfront <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood recognized that this is a project that has been <br />planned for over 20 years and provided background information on the site, preparation, and <br />planning He stated that one year ago, the City Council provided authorization to move forward <br />on this park project, and he provided an overview of the project details. He reported that The <br />Waterfront was opened to the public on July 1st. He commented that The Waterfront has been <br />heavily used and enjoyed by residents since its opening. He provided additional information on <br />the different equipment and features within the splashpad zones. He noted that once federal funds <br />are released, staff will come back before the Commission and City Council to pursue the mini <br />marina that will have paddle boats, kayaks, and perhaps a small sailboat. He noted other items <br />that will come before the Commission at the August meeting to consider potential uses for other <br />areas within the park. <br />Commissioner Barten acknowledged the hard work of Parks & Assistant Public Works Director <br />Riverblood to get this project to fruition, while remaining under budget. <br />Chair Bennett also thanked the team involved with the project, as it fulfilled the vision and is a <br />great amenity for the community. <br />6. COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br />6.01: July Recreation Program Update <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood noted that a written report was included in <br />the packet. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Barten, seconded by Commissioner Ealain, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Bennett; Commissioners Barten, Ealain, Anderson, Arts, <br />Moore, and Olson. Voting No: None.
