CASE # 1
REVIEW 2007 PARK CIP PROJECTS
By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer II
Background:
The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a five (5) year plan for public improvement
projects. It is reviewed and approved annually by the City Council. Inclusion of a
project in the CIP does not guarantee construction; each project must be approved by the
City Council for expenditure of the funds for construction. Early spring is the time to
begin the approval process for the park projects included in the CIP for the current
calendar year.
Observation:
Staff has attached copies of the 2007 CIP park projects for your review. Staff will be
preparing a presentation for the City Council requesting authorization to go forward with
the planning for Sunfish Lake Park and water service with fountain and mister in
Elmcrest Park. The request for proposal for Sunfish Lake Park is included as a separate
case for your review in this agenda.
Commission Action:
Motion to approve forwarding Elmcrest park improvements to the City Council for
authorization to proceed.
Reviewed by:
Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer
Park Supervisor
P&R: 03/08/07
