Commissioner Olds stated he liked the second layout better because it is more open space and not designated for certain activities. Commissioner Lehman stated some of the sports overlap and there could be conflicts with an open field. Chairperson Johns stated they should find out what the school needs for the park. Commissioner Olds stated the designated park area may be too structured. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated he agreed with Commissioner Olds reasoning but the parking will be far away from the ball field. Ms. Bartels noted there will be parking around the park on the street as well because most of the streets around the park are streets that do not go anywhere. Chairperson Johns stated what she liked about the designated fields is it becomes more versatile. Commissioner Ostrum stated if the baseball field is not regulation, what use would it be to the school. Commissioner Lehman stated it could be a softball field. Chairperson Johns stated they needed to talk to the school because if they want this for the school, they would need to find out how much the school would contribute to it. She preferred the structured park look. Commissioner Lehman agreed. Ms. Bartels showed pictures giving ideas of what they could use in the park areas. Commissioner Olds stated the structures need to be consistent throughout the entire development. Commissioner Ostrum stated with the park by the school, they could possibly replace the soccer field with a track field. Ms. Bartels stated they could put the track around the soccer and football field. She stated another idea would be to put a tennis court of basketball court in the place of the ball field. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos asked if having a track would be appropriate across the street in the central area. Commissioner Ostrum stated he would like to keep this out of the central area.
