Chairperson Johns thought the concept Riverblood displayed in his presentation was great. She thought this would give them expanded uses in the park throughout the changing seasons. She indicated she was in favor of going in that direction. Commissioner Erickson thought with the exposure to the skate park at Alpine Park, people will realize the park offers other amenities also. Case #4: Park Dedication for Hack Commercial Center Hack Real Estate Associates has submitted a site plan and minor plat application to construct a commercial project on Riverdale Drive adjacent to Village Bank. The site was platted as Outlot A of Rivenwick Village. The minor plat will convert the outlot to a buildable lot. The lot is 9.3 acres. The project consists of one large multi -tenant retail building, a smaller multi -tenant retail building and a restaurant. The site plan is intended to be pedestrian friendly with defined crossings and walkways. There is an existing path along the north side of Riverdale Drive; the developer will be required to provide access ramps where the new driveways intersect the path. Commissioner Shryock asked what park district this would fall into. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated half would go into the Mississippi Recreation Area District and the other half would go into the park fund for use throughout the entire City. Chairperson Johns stated they definitely need some improvements in Riverdale. Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Barr, to recommend park dedication in cash in the amount of $44,063 and a trail dedication of $10,137. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Barr, Erickson, Hansen, and LaMere. Voting No: None. Absent: Olds. Case #5: 2007 Arbor Day Event — Update on Environmental Expo Due to a number of factors, including the loss of the elementary school as a co-sponsor and the conflicts with other city -sponsored events, the Environmental Expo will be suspended for 2007. In lieu of the Environmental Expo, Staff is planning a formal Arbor Day event involving both interested City Officials and residents. The focus of this event will be boulevard tree plantings in two locations along Sunwood Drive between Sunfish Lake Blvd. and St. Francis Blvd. The intent will be to have nearby residents, as well as City Officials, actively involved in the plantings along with staff. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated they were planning on having the Arbor Day Event on Friday, April 27, 2007. Chairperson Johns asked if residents want to participate, should they just show up.
