Board Member Max suggested placing signup sheets at the visioning forum, then order bundles
of trees in conjunction with the ACD, and send someone to pick up a truckload to have available
after the event.

Chairperson McDilda stated that the EPB should be a supporter, but he doesn't feel this Board
should be the coordinating committee. He suggested that the EPB supports Coordinator
Anderson in whatever he decides to present to the Council regarding the tree sale and Expo.

Board Member Max suggested finding a potential speaker on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis to
be televised so the momentum continues.

Chairperson McDilda asked Coordinator Anderson if he had enough input to bring it to the
Council.

Coordinator Anderson clarified that the EPB is looking toward moving to a 2008 Expo and tree
sale.

The Members concurred.

Case #2:

Wetland Buffer Guidebook Review

Coordinator Anderson presented the EPB members with a revised draft of the Wetland Buffer
Guidebook (Exhibit 1). He reviewed the proposed language for the inside front and back covers,
presented as Exhibit 2. He stated that he has made some of the changes that were discussed last
month.

Coordinator Anderson noted concern about certain graphics. He stated there were some issues
with the text being illegible.

Chairperson McDilda stated that he would prefer to have readability versus pretty.

Coordinator Anderson wondered if the graphic were to be used, whether there might be an issue
with copy write.

Chairperson McDilda stated that typically copy writing only needs to mention where it came
from. He suggested sending a request to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District to use the
material.

Board Member aids stated that Coordinator Anderson's revisions made things much more
readable.

Coordinator Anderson passed out pictures of types of wetlands at different times of the year.

Chairperson McDilda stated he knew of another set of pictures for different types of plants. He
stated there will have to be a request from the DNR to use the pictures in the guidebook.

Environmental Policy Board/ February 5, 2007
Page 7 of 13
