It could also prove to be <br />manipulative in how an interim would deal with fellow employees and councilmembers. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that she would like the Council to keep the door open <br />for the interim to apply but if she had to make a choice she would choose to serve as interim. <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson also encouraged Transition Team members to conduct a <br />national search for the long term city administrator position. <br /> <br />The Transition Team members decided to recommend that the City Council appoint Assistant <br />City Administrator Nelson as interim city administrator and that a national search be conducted <br />for a city administrator. Transition Team members asked the Human Resources Manager to <br />research an appropriate bump in pay and costs and process for a city administrator search to be <br />presented at the December 8, 2006 work session. <br /> <br />Transition Team members decided during next year's goal setting session they would like to <br />discuss the qualities, experience and skills they would like a new city administrator to have. <br /> <br />Transition Team members asked the Human Resources Manager to draft communications for the <br />newspapers and staff to be disseminated on December 8th or 13th. <br /> <br />A Transition Team meeting was scheduled for December 12, 2006 at 8:00am to discuss City <br />Administrator Norman's project list and the role of the Transition Team moving forward. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adjourn the regular <br />meeting of the Transition Team. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Transition Team adjourned at 9:00 am. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Givonna Reed Kone <br />Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Jo Ann M.
