2. 1. <br />CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 10/13/2026 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Not Applicable <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Elevate Hope House Christmas Market Fee Waiver Discussion <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Elevate Hope House (EHH) is a non-profit organization supporting mothers experiencing homelessness. EHH is proposing <br />to host a fundraising Christmas Market at Ramsey City Hall on Saturday, December 5th and is asking City Council to <br />consider a reduced rate for the rental of city hall. <br />Proposed hours for municipal center room rental are as follows: <br />Friday, December 4, from 3 pm - 6:45 pm: This time will be used for set-up for the vendors during hours in which city hall is <br />normally staffed. <br />Saturday, December 5, from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. This time will be used for set-up, open market (9 am - 3 pm), and tearing <br />down once it is closed. At least one (1) city staff person will be working overtime on Saturday to open up city hall, provide <br />services during the course of the day and lock -up city hall afterward. <br />The 2026 approved fee for municipal center room rental for after-hours/weekend hourly rate for all groups (residents and <br />non -profits) is $100 per hour. The proposed cost for WHH would be $1100. EHH is asking the City Council to consider <br />reducing the rental fee to $600 for the fundraising event. The $600 fee will cover overtime costs associated with staffing the <br />city hall for the event. <br />Notification: <br />Not applicable <br />Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: <br />EHH is looking for a decision regarding the proposed fee reduction.
