Proposed Work Program

Task 1: Project Initiation and Data Gathering
April 2007

We recommend conducting a project initiation meeting .with City staff to
discuss project goals, objectives, and schedule. '

Task 2: Gather and Review existing Data

We will gather arid review existing data to identifY what is available, and
IdentifY data gaps. A preliminary review of the data suggests much good
information is available. This will form the foundation.'of the NRI effort.

The following information will be collected, where available (data
provided by the City is noted as such):

~ 2005 aerial photography (City)
~ Wetland Function & Values study (City)
~ GIS parcel base map shapefiles(City)
~ Minnesota land Cover Classification System (MLCCS) data compiled
by Anoka Conservation District
~ Ramsey Wetland Function and Values Assessment (City)
~ DNR Natural Heritage database records
~ National Wetlands Inventory {NWI}
~ DNR Protected Waters and Wetlands Inventory
~ MN DNR Ecological Classification System - Subsection coverage
.;.' Anoka 'County Soil Survey digital data
~ landform data from the MN Geological Survey
. Other available surveys and studies
~ Draft Master Trail Plan (City)

Task 3: Integrate MnRAM into MLCCS Layer and Prepare
Freid Maps

We will integrate the existing applicable MnRAM data into the MLCCS .
GIS layer. In keeping with MLCCS standards, we will use the minimum
mapping units of 1.25 for natural areas and 2.5 acres for semi-natural
areas to convert into MLCCS. Smaller wetlands will be noted as
inclusions within larger communities using the appropriate MLCCS
modifier codes.

Per MLCCS methods, we will prepare 36" x 36" (-1 " = 200') full color
field maps that include the existing MLCCS data from previously
completed work and the MLCCS code for land cover codes 20,000 and
higher. Other information on the maps will include the location of
wetlands mapped during the MnRAM inventory, NWf wetlands (if
different than the MnRAM wetlands), and other information deemed
useful for the field assessment.

This information will be combined with an aerial photo review to identify
natural communities where on-the-ground field verification is needed, as

<<I City of Ramsey
Natuf'ill Resources InventOfj'

7
