7550 Sunwood Drive NW - Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 City Hall: 763 -427 -1410 - Fax: 763 -427 -5543 . www.ci.ramsey.mn.us February 23, 2007 Dear Resident: This letter is to inform you that the City of Ramsey will be making a contingent offer to acquire the residential property located at 5860 157 Lane for the purpose extending Neon Street south from 157 Lane to the new street (157 Avenue). The extension of Neon Street is anticipated to be constructed this summer as a part of.the Rum River Prairie development to the south. One of the contingencies associated with the offer to purchase this property is dependant upon a traffic study showing favorable results from making this connection. A figure illustrating this proposed connection is enclosed. In addition to providing an additional outlet for traffic within the River Pines neighborhood, this street segment will allow the opportunity for greater community bonds between existing and new residents. It will also enable the lift station which is located immediately east of this property to be removed. This will eliminate any possibility of a mechanical failure which could result in sewer backups in the neighborhood. The results of the traffic study are anticipated to be available at the end of February. You are invited to attend an informational Open House to be held on Wednesday, March 7th between 7:00 and 8:30 pm in the Alexander Ramsey Room of the Ramsey Municipal Building, 7550 Sunwood Drive. A traffic engineer will present the results of the study and be available to answer questions regarding it. City staff will also be available to collect your written comments for presentation to the Public Works Committee at 5:30pm on March 20, 2007. The City Council is anticipated to take action on the Committee recommendation at their regular March 27, 2007 meeting. Please feel free to call me at (763) 433 -9826 if you have any questions.
