o t FC Case # 0 APPROVE 2007 PARK'S CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS By: Mark Riverblood, Parks Supervisor Background: On January 9 of this year, City Council approved the 2007 Capital Improvement Program, which included seven park improvements. The Park and Recreation Commission reviewed the projects at their March meeting and recommended City Council authorize staff to complete five of the projects. These park improvements have different funding sources which are identified in the project summary below. It should be reiterated that this case recommends approval for five of the park projects; with the Sunfish Lake planning project a separate case of the Finance Committee. In addition, the Village Square Commons' park development is `on hold' until the City formally receives the land. The Emerald Pond Park restroom project will be refined this summer and will be presented as a separate case for Finance Committee and Council consideration. Observations: Images of the various improvements highlighted below will be available at the Committee meeting, along with additional detail. The funding sources are the Lawful Gambling fund with a balance of $288,573, the Park Trust Fund at $3,612,839, and the Municipal Water Utility in excess of $10 million. These totals are as of February 28 t ', 2007.
