e"v it <br />Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 907 -03 -_ <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A JOINT <br />AGREEMENT WITH ANOKA COUNTY FOR CONTINUED PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AND HOME <br />PROGRAMS. <br />WHEREAS, under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and <br />the Cranston - Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, every three (3) years <br />Anoka County must complete an Urban Requalification process in order to continue <br />receiving and administering Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds for the <br />Community Development Block Grant and HOME programs; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of the requalification process the County is required to notify <br />participating communities of their option to be excluded from the Anoka County "Urban <br />County" qualification of the funding years 1008 -2010; and , <br />WHEREAS, the County's population, among other factors, is determinant of the <br />eligibility of the County and the amount of resources which may be made available to the <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey has chosen to remain a participating community in the past <br />and has received benefit from the CDBG program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is herein determined that it is in Ramsey's best interest to have its <br />population counted together with other municipalities of Anoka County. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1. City Staff shall notify the local HUD Representative of Ramsey's intent to <br />remain a participating community in the Anoka County "Urban County" <br />qualification for the funding years 2008 -2010. <br />2. City Staff shall notify Anoka County of the intent to remain a participating <br />community for the funding years 2008 -2010. <br />3. The Mayor and Interim City Administrator are herein authorized to execute <br />the Cooperative Agreement between Anoka County and the City. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />-63- <br />
