PUBLIC HEARING
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, to hear input
regarding a request for a variance from street frontage or lot width requirements; case of John and
Bonnie Enstrom.

Members Present:

Chairperson Benjamin Deemer
Board Member Leo Anderson
Board Member David Bawden
Board Member Sharon Jensen
Board Member Charles LaDue
Board Member Michael Terry
Board Member Joe Wivoda

Also Present:

Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik
Community Development Assistant Sean Walther

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Deemer called the public hearing to order at 7:06 p.m.

PRESENTATION

Zoning Administrator explained John and Bonnie Enstrom entered into a purchase agreement for
a landlocked 7 acre parcel. City Code does not permit the development of a home on a lot that
does not meet the minimum width requirements. In the rural residential district, the minimum lot
width or street frontage requirement is 200 feet. The property sale is contingent .upon the
Enstroms obtaining a variance to the street frontage or lot width requirement in order that a home
could eventually be developed on the property, and also that an easement from the adjoining
property owner is obtained.

Motion by Board Member Jensen, seconded by Board Member LaDue, that the letter received
from Janelle and Carl McCullum be entered into the record.

Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairperson Deemer, Board Members Jensen, LaDue, Anderson,
Bawden, Terry, and Wivoda. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Public Hearing/Board of Adjustment/May 5, 1998
Page 1 of 3
