It was noted that <br />the individual from Waters Consulting Group is having a problcm getting out of the Chicago <br />airport. If she is not ablc to make it to the meeting she will be interviewed via telephone <br />conference call. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Elvig suggested question no. I on the list of executive search firm interview <br />questions be amended as follows: Please describe your experience recruiting city managerslcity <br />administrators and \vhat are the differences for high growth communities. <br /> <br />The following questions \vere asked \vith each of the search firm intervic\vs: <br /> <br />1. Please describc your experience recruiting city managers/administrators. and \vhat are the <br />differences for high~gro,^,1h communities? <br />2. If YOllr firm is selected to conduct the city administrator search for the City of Ramsey. <br />will you be handling similar searches at the same time? If so, how will you avoid <br />conflicts over the same applicant pool? <br />3. \Vhich members of your staff \vill be working on this recruitment process? Plcase <br />describe their backgrounds and experience. <br />4. Research suggests that interviews may not be as effective as originally thought at <br />determining how a candidatc will perform long term once hired for a position. Please <br />describe how you measure candidate competency and tell us which tools your finn will <br />use to complement the interview process and to ensure that the right candidate is selected <br />for the City of Ramsey. <br />Sa. Many search firms indicated in their proposals that they rely most heavily on their own <br />database of potential clients when recruiting for executive positions. The Ramsey City <br />Council is committed to casting a wide net in order to attract the most superior candidates <br />possible for the city administrator position. Please describe the process. tools and media <br />you will use to advel1ise and recruit desirable candidates for the city administrator <br />position. <br />5b.
