<br />Motion on the floor amended as follows: to adopt Resolution #06-11-391 addressing <br />administrative issues regarding the resignation of City Administrator James E. Norman, with the <br />following changes: <br />· "The City Council will establish a transition team by on November 14,2006..." <br />· Statement regarding the designated contacts amended as follows: James E. Norman or <br />his designee will be the contact for all inquiries from residents, media, and city <br />employees. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Elvig asked why a statement is not being put out along with <br />this resolution. City Attorney Goodrich replied the statement will be discussed following the <br />adoption of this resolution. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Jeffrey, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Resolution Announcing the Resignation of City Administrator. James E. Norman. Effective <br />December 31. 2006 <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich indicated Council should discuss adoption of the resolution announcing <br />the resignation of Mr. Norman. Mr. Norman has expressed his preference that the resolution be <br />adopted at the November 14th City Council meeting. " <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig indicated it is prudent to adopt the statement immediately; however, the <br />announcement could be made at the November 14th City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to adopt the official statement announcing Mr. Norman's <br />resignation at this 'meeting, with the resolution reaffirmed and the statement announced at the <br />November 14, 2006 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #06- <br />11-392 announcing the resignation of City Administrator James E. Norman, effective December <br />31,2006. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Cook, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Administrator Goodrich indicated staff would like to know how the employees will be <br />informed of Mr. Norman's resignation. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied he would suggest a staff meeting on Monday, November 6th. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook suggested Mr. Norman distribute a memo regarding his resignation, and <br />that he hold the staff meeting on Monday. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed-Kone suggested Mr. Norman meet with department heads <br />today so they are able to answer questions of their staff.
