Commissioner Ostrum asked whether the 4th of July would be a better time to schedule the event.

Mayor Gamec replied that school bands are already booked during the 4t~ of July week, and that it
is generally a very busy time for families. Fall, he added, seems to work out better for community
events of this size and nature.

Mr. Boos stated he would take the book and tapes from Chair Cook's workshop and share them
with his employees.

Chair Cook said these maintenance workers could then see how their jobs positively affect the
parks and surrounding community.

Mr. Boos distributed a workshop flyer focusing on Ecosystem based planning approaches. The
presentations begin in September. He then discussed an Eagle Scout candidate who plans on
developing a billboard promoting park trails. He said this billboard could travel to several
different locations, and would be accompanied by ballots that interested parties could complete
and drop off. By doing so, Mr. Boos added, this project could build a trail support base, mailing
list, and a resident-driven, "Friends of Trails" group.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Ostrum, and seconded by Commissioner Asfahl, to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried.
