<br />, <br /> <br />KtVtfLcL r~~ ~ D~ d _(..u..~- <br />s~nJW\\1- ~ <br />l~I\;Lic( JJ cuJ.cieCL <br /> <br />M~ <br /> <br />CITY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006.1281 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 14, REPEALING ARTICLES V & VI, AND INSERTING A <br />NEW ARTICLE V; CHARITABLE AND LEGALIZED GAMBLING <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANOKA ORDAINS: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Mionesota Law, the Anoka City Charter and the Anoka City Code, <br />aud upon a review of a study conducted by City staff, Chapter 14, Articles V & <br />VI. is hereby adopted that the current Articles V & VI be repealed in their <br />entirety and a new Article V be inserted, by an affirmative vote of a majority of <br />the Anoka City Council members present, to read as below, with stricken text <br />deleted and underlined text inserted into existing code: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 14. LICENSING; AMUSEMENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT <br /> <br />ARTICLE V. <br /> <br />Charitable & Leealized Gambline <br /> <br />Section 14-181. <br /> <br />Purpose. <br /> <br />The purpose ofthis Article is to closely regulate and control the conduct of gambling and <br />to ensure that profits derived from gambling activities in the City of Anoka provide, to <br />the extent authorized by law, direct benefit to the citizens of Anoka. <br /> <br />Section 14-182. <br /> <br />Definitions. <br /> <br />For the purpose of this Article, the following words and terms will have the meanings <br />given them: <br /> <br />Board Minnesota State Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />LawfUl gambling. The operation of gambling activities by an organization eligible for a <br />license from the Board to conduct such activities. <br /> <br />Net profits, lawfUl purpose, and allowable expenses. Will have meanings as provided in <br />Minnesota Statutes Chapter 349, as may be amended from time to time. <br /> <br />Premise Permits.
